Marianne Burgum Oliveira

My path to COO of Blossom has been an exciting one, albeit not necessarily the classic nor expected route. I have a degree in Modern Languages and Political Science and initial professional experience as a teacher and translator. My business education and my learning of business building and a company’s operations has come from the best seat in the house: right beside the CEO & founders.

I have excelled over the past decade as the trusted right hand partner to CEOs and founders across luxury, fashion and most recently, financial services. These pivotal roles have granted me special insight and understanding that helped connect me to the founders we support at Blossom. In addition, being born in Holland, growing up in the UK, living and working, in France and in Italy, means that I have a very deep pride in being European and an extra level of cultural awareness.  The opportunity to help elevate European companies to the global stage is what attracted me to Blossom in the first instance. I’m a believer in its mission.

Behind the scenes, I am the thread between our investing and operational teams.I pride myself on being the train that keeps everything moving forward. Blossom moves quickly, with conviction, and so do I.  I grew up a dancer and its training has taught me key life lessons that are fundamental to my way of being. Discipline; tenacity; respect; striving for excellence. Qualities which pervade the Blossom team and all the founders and teams with whom we partner. The incredibly high standards we uphold at Blossom suit me perfectly. Whether it’s personal or professional, I will exhaust every possible avenue to make something happen and can be counted on to go to the ends of the earth for our team and wider network.

I am part of a very special journey here at Blossom, always working with exceptionally ambitious individuals.  Every day I am inspired to do more, try harder and be the best for both the entrepreneurs building something unique and the investors supporting them to do so.
